Frequently Asked Questions

Cedarwood essential oil has a warm, rich, woodsy aroma that feels grounding and calming. Imagine walking through a pine forest or sitting inside a cozy cabin — there’s a deep, earthy quality with subtle sweet undertones. It’s a scent that feels natural and comforting rather than sharp or floral.
Start with 2–3 drops in your diffuser. Cedarwood has a mellow but noticeable scent, so that amount usually fills a room with a beautifully grounded aroma without feeling overpowering. You can always add one more drop if you want the scent to feel stronger.
Yes, cedarwood is an excellent blending oil. It pairs superbly with citrus oils like orange or bergamot to add brightness, and with other earthy or woodsy oils like sandalwood or patchouli for a deeper, more grounded blend. Adding a touch of lavender or rosemary can also help balance the blend and make it feel more layered and complex.
You can use cedarwood topically when it’s properly diluted in a carrier oil like jojoba or almond oil. It’s generally gentle compared to some essential oils, but just like with any concentrated oil, mixing it in a carrier firsthelps make skin applications more comfortable and prevents irritation.
When diffused, cedarwood creates a warm, calming, and grounding atmosphere. It’s the kind of scent that makes a space feel cozy and serene, almost like you’ve brought a piece of nature indoors. It’s great for relaxing evenings, reading nooks, or any moment when you want a balanced, peaceful vibe.
Keep the bottle tightly closed and store it in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and heat. Proper storage helps preserve its rich, woodsy aroma so it stays fresh and inviting every time you use it. A cabinet or drawer works great — just keep it out of direct light.

High-quality essential oil praised for its authentic cedarwood scent and versatility. Customers said it's "great value" and works well in diffusers, pest control, DIY projects, and aromatherapy. Some noted scent strength varies - a few found it milder than expected while others described it as "extremely fragrant." Includes dropper for precise dispensing.

Woodsy manly scent

Using this cedarwood essential oil combined with burgamot oil, I made a very pleasant smelling reed scent diffuser for my son's bedroom. He loves it! The cedarwood is a light, fresh, woodsy kind of smell that is not overwhelming.

Similar scent to tea tree but not as heavy

I like using this oil in my aromatherapy diffuser it has a sort ofclean smell that reminds me a lot of tea tree but not as heavy of ascent. I would say that this oil carries well but not as well as some otheroils, some fragrances just carry better, this one is a little better than average in that respect. It kind of smells like Tea tree oil but with a hint of eucalyptus oil. This oil doesn't really smell like a Cedar closet or like Cedar blocksor bags of chips you get for closets though. I was thinking I could make a tincture spray out of 90 IPA and afew drops of this oil in a small spray bottle to spray on the Cedarblocks in my garment drawers that are starting to loose theiraroma but I haven't tried that yet.

Cedar wood essential oil

This is a nice essential oil. It came in a sealed box with a seal at the lid. My picture is once I opened it. It smells good and has a nice cedar type smell. It works well in my diffuser. I have a pretty small diffuser and many oils don't make the scent throughout my home because of the size of that unit. This actually came out further into my home than most other oils. It traveled well and smelled good while using the diffuser.

Works great in my diffuser!

I add 20-25 drops into my 500ml diffuser and enjoy the benefits of Cedarwood Oil. It has a nice aroma and it is known to reduce feelings of stress. I use a variety of essential oils and this Brooklyn Botany Cedarwood is a good find. It comes with the dropper, in amber glass bottle and is packaged well for easy dispensing. .

I ordered and received cedarwood and lemon eucalyptus essential oils and organic jojoba oil for use with DIY tick repellent. All the items are of high quality, great value, and were delivered on time with free shipping. Couldn't ask for more. Will be placing more orders in the future and recommending Brooklyn Botany to others.

A most beneficial oil

Cedarwood oil is very calming and I diffuse to help my cats stay at peace with each other. It is also great for insect control as they hate this oil .

Good value, good size

Product smells wonderfully, although it arrived without the dropper top - just a screw on lid. Hence the 4 stars versus 5 stars

High-Quality, Versatile Essential Oil Fantastic for Skin, Hair, and Aromatherapy

I am extremely impressed with Brooklyn Botanys Cedarwood Essential Oil! I also purchased their Frankincense oil, and both have been amazing additions to my daily skin and hair oiling routine. The oils are high-quality and potent, and just a drop or two diluted in a carrier oil is all you need for noticeable benefits. I love the strong, natural scent of the Cedarwoodits grounding, rich, and blends beautifully with other oils. Beyond aromatherapy, Ive integrated it topically, and it has enhanced my skin and hair care routine with smoothness and a subtle nourishment thats really noticeable. The value is exceptional, especially considering the generous 4 fl oz bottle. For everyday use, its very economical and lasts a long time. The included dropper makes it easy to measure precisely without waste. Overall, Im very satisfied with the quality, effectiveness, and versatility of this essential oil. I will definitely purchase again when I want to expand my collection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for premium, pure essential oils at an excellent value!

So far, very good product

All boxes checked, i.e.: well packaged, good scent, quick delivery. I think this oil will do what I purchased it for, in my diffuser, to extend melted candles scent, etc.
